Helen M. Luke, Jungian counselor and writer affirmed the way of the Inner Life, the attending of images that speak through the realm of dreams or, as she phrased it, "The Voice Within" and helps us to recognize the mystery of the divine. She believed that, "This voice is speaking less and less in the language of collective institutions or through external rules or morality, and more and more in the individual soul. Man can, indeed must in this age, seek individually his interpretation of the voice within."

Within 2 hours of Chicago is the 50 year old Jungian community of Apple Farm.  Located in rural Three Rivers, Michigan, Apple Farm was founded by Helen Luke (author of Old Age, Dark Wood to White Rose, and The Way of Woman among other books).  The Farm is a center that promotes and invites the way of individuation and nurture of the inner life through dreamwork, groups, and community life.  The Farm is also a place of retreat with furnished apartment spaces for guests.  Each guest can construct an individual stay with as much interaction with the resident community and Apple Farm events as is desired.  Some persons come for an overnight, some for 3-5 days and others for several months to write or to join in the life and work of the community. Space at the Farm is also available for groups to conduct meetings or conferences for their own purposes. Contributions are made according to the type of visit.  Some exchange of space for Farm work is possible.
