Friday – THE MIRACLE OF MARCELLINO: PANE E VINO (THE BOY WHO FED THE CRUCIFIX)

This fairy tale is the story of a young boy who enters a church for the first time and sees a man, alone, naked, hanging on a cross. The boy’s compassion allows him to see that this man must be hungry, thirsty, and lonely, so he begins to talk to him, feeds him a bowl of pasta, offers him a glass of wine, and longs to bring him comfort. Reminding us of the transformative potential of fairy tales, this beautiful and difficult story illustrates how even when so many of us forget the reality of a living spirit, the numinous is ever present; indeed, the psyche and the divine are embedded within the world’s religious and spiritual traditions.  The movie entitled “The Miracle of Marcelino” is based on this story. Please view the movie before the program. It can be accessed at the following link: https://tubitv.com/movies/458881/miracle-of-marcelino?utm_source=google-feed&tracking=google-feed
